This is a chat with four university roomates, sharing their journey of friendships, patience and what being roommates have taught them. From study session to prayer moments, they open up about what makes their bonds work despite their different personalities, and the memories they've made living together.

How are you all doing on a scale of 1-10?

Anu: I deyyyyyy ooooo. Maybe 8

Dami: I'm good and it's 8.5

Temi: 6, I’m pretty much just there

How did the four of you end up as roommates?

Dami: I think it was kind of planned

Planned? You mean you guys didn't ballot?

Anu: We don't do ballot in my school, it's based on choice. We've known each other for about 2-3 years now and have a friend group (of about 8 people) called "Soft Life Girlies". When it was time to pick 4 roommates, we planned it.

Temi: I only knew Precious in100 level because she was my roommate then, but we barely spoke to each other. I knew Anu, but I didn’t really know Dami until we became roommate at the end of 100 level. The reason I noticed Dami because she used to read a lot and we were in the same department at the time.

Later, we both crossed to nursing, our current course. Fast forward to 300 Ieven, I started hanging out with Funto, a friend of mine, who is very close to the three of them and they added me to their group. Now we are roommates.

Anu: Such a storyteller!

Precious: I've known Temi and Anu since 100 level. Temi was my roommate then, and Anu and I go to class together during our 100 level days. I got to know Dammy better in 200 level.

What's the biggest thing living together has taught you?

Anu: Patience tops it all

Temi: To read my book and pray more. I've learnt a lot actually, including tolerance.

Precious: I'll say patience like they've said

What's the biggest fight you've ever had?

Temi: Fun fact; we don’t fight and I don't like it

Dami: None *side eye Temi*

Anu: None

Temi: I feel like we don’t like to confront certain things. We just let sleeping dog lie

Anu: That's true.

Temi: Plus we are actually chill people

Dami: Yeah, veryyyy chill people

Temi: We don’t even argue, the moment it’s looking like an argument everybody turns deaf and dumb

Anu: (laughs) Mi o gbo pa (I can't hear youuu)

What's a shared memory you have together?

Precious: As roommates, I will say none

Temi: Exam moments, we have study groups ,birthdays. Ice cream dates and Prayer meetings together and lots of shared memories.

Dami: Birthdays, exams, prayers and life conversations

Anu: Precious!!! JESUS CHRIST

Temi: Omo

Anu: Hmmm

Dami: Precious, I go put hand for your eye

Precious: That's my own. Say yours

Anu: Na you go organize prayer meeting ooo. No wahala

Precious: But is it a roommate thing? Or a friendship circle thing?

Anu: Sorry babe

Temi: A few other people are involved but it’s still a roommate memory

Precious: As a roommate, I'll say random late night talks

Anu: Our friends are literally our roommates already

Temi: I'm telling you

Anu: Is it how long they spend in our room

Temi: Cause one would think they stay in our room

Anu: It's only that they don't have bed here

Temi: I've not celebrated any birthdays with my current roommates as roommates

Anu: Same, but as a friendship group, yes

What will you miss about this room when you graduate?

Dami: The gists, just talking about life and everything.

Anu: Seeing Dami buy akara almost every night and her nightdress, giving premium gist; Temi standing by the window to create content and trying different food combos, watching Cruise tv and shouting; Precious "muzzing" me everytime and everyday.

Temi: Tew specific 😭 Dami is not always buying akara.

Anu: 😂😂

Temi: She buys yam on some days

Anu: See, some days. Whatever helps you sleep this night. What is she eating tonight, though?😏

Temi: Anuuuu😭

Dami: 😂😂

Temi: I'll miss Precious alarm that never goes off

Anu: Yesssssss! How did I forget?

Dami: Yessss

Temi: Also beyond that? Just the privilege to be surrounded by wonderful people who think alike and have same values as you

What makes you guys work despite your different personalities?

Temi: Everyone is actually matured (or maybe they are not but just want to show that they )

And also like I said earlier we don’t like to revisit matter ( a good thing and not a good thing at the same time )

Lastly just understanding each other and PATIENCEEEEEE

Dami: Honestly, God. He has been the centre of it all. Also, we are intentional about understanding each other

Anu: Yea. When I understand that this is how this person is, I just work with it

Precious: I actually don't have anything to say. But all in all, to my dear & Wonderful roommates: Jesus loves you and so do I 🫂❤️

It's been great living with you all. From our gists to the serious study session, birthday surprises, the little acts of love and conversations about life- it is a whole vibe.
